How Holistic Medicine Helps
“The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patient in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” – Thomas Edison, 1903
The word “doctor” actually comes from the Latin word “docere” meaning “to teach.” As a physician, it is therefore one’s duty to educate patients concerning the true meaning of health.
For the sake of our patients, we have organized this informational list of conditions into those most common to mankind. In terms of time and money, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and stroke are currently the most costly conditions in our nation. They also share another ironic trait; they are all diet-related. In other words, every disease or dysfunction of the body is affected by nutrition.
You will find here a simple overview of each condition followed by common symptoms and diagnosis, medical treatment, and, most importantly, how we can help. Remember: We treat the patient – not the disease.
“It is much more important to know what sort of a patient has a disease than what sort of a disease a patient has.” – William Osler
